Installation problem [RESOLVED]

I have been running Version 6.10.58 for quite awhile and, in error, thought I needed to install a new version. I downloaded a new copy and started the install process. After the actual install began it quit and gave me the message that "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert The World Community Grid BOINC Disk and click OK." I have tried everything I know to get it to install to no avail - including trying to uninstall BOINC (which fails with the same message). If someone could point me in a new direction to try it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Installation problem

Try downloading v. 6.10.58 again and run that install. I've seen similar errors before, but i can't remember what the solution was. Others will respond with more information. I just wanted to give you a quick solution that will hopefully work and get you back to crunching.

As what was proposed, to reinstall 6.10.58 fails, get the MS Cleanup tool. See recent thread: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,31466

Let us know hoe it goes.

Re: Installation problem

Your link lead me to Microsoft Fit It which indeed fixed the problem. I thank you all very much. Now I can peacefully go to bed.
Tks again,

John
