Just installed a new computer. Installed Boinc successfully, and then noticed the computer name was 'User-PC' - I changed the computer name, and now want to change the device name to match the new computer name, but cant find anywhere how to do this - Help will be appreciated.

I've done that a handful of times. Don't remember the exact trigger but all my renamed devices got changed in my WCG stats usually within a day of normally crunching and returning of WUs.

Not unless the machine was booted under Windows. Last discussion on same ended on August 15: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,31579

Thanks folks - the reboot (and I did the changed PC first) of the group solved the problem. Much appreciated

Good. I did test it at the time of the previous discussion, and with W7 there was an explicit message to say a boot was needed to have it take effect and if it was wanted to be done now or later.
