sad All work lost due to change to the w7 user group

Hi,
I lost all the work of the day due to a change in the user group (W7 PRO). I accidentally delete my membership in the group "boinc_admins". I could not use the BOINC client. So I put this membership as it was (maybe i should precise that i rebooted before). I could use Boinc again but it has downloaded new tasks and he lost the previous results. Previous work in progress do not appear, completed tasks, either. Also, in my online account, my computer appears twice in two different registration dates. It's like I made €‹a new installation on a new computer with the same name.
Yet i still have all the previous tasks files in the folder "C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org" so i guess there is a way to force the manager to recognize the previous tasks so they can be validated/completed.

Do you have any clue ?

Thx

(I set a high priority to this thread due to the deadline of the tasks)

shock Re: All work lost due to change to the w7 user group

Hi,

Uninstall BOINC, reinstall and somewhere in the 3rd screen there's the possibility to point the client at your old data directory. Also select "Allow all users", so that if you delete a user/group, you'll not be hitting the wall again.

Let us know if you need more emergency help.
