Hi all,
----------------------------------------I know I've read about this a while ago, but I just can't seem to find it in all these threads. Maybe I'm not using the right terms or maybe the search engine should get a tweak too. Anyway, please don't shoot me for reiterating an old problem, but here's what happened. I have detached one of my machines from the project, then, after a while, I made an upgrade, I have reinstalled my OS and BOINC too, reattached it to the project, but when I went to my device profiles, my PC appeared as a new, separate installation. So now, instead of 3 devices, I have 4 registered under my profile. My problem is not with the number of devices, but the fact that all my previously returned results and hence stats are locked away on that old installation, even though we are basically talking about the same machine. Is there any magical solution for this? Thanks in advance Knowledge is limited. Hi,
----------------------------------------it's not possible to merge devices. Have you checked if the computer still has the same name?? ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

CandymanWCG,
The one and only rescue of the situation is to have a backup of the BOINC data directory from before the OS upgrade /New clean install of BOINC. Copy that backup over the new install data-dir [after stopping BOINC] and reinstall BOINC again. Maybe the servers will be fooled in seeing an old acquaintance and dropping the new one (which of course, will stay there, out of sight, after 14 days or so). --//-- |

I was afraid of that. I don't think I have my old BOINC folder anymore. I have deleted it at one point.
---------------------------------------- Thanks anyway! @Falconet: thanks for trying. I always have the same name on my machines. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world! - Albert Einstein ![]() |
