Very interesting chart Sek.
----------------------------------------It shows that we have reached a plateau around 30d/10kry. This plateau is now stable for nearly two years. It does show that we are not attracting more crunching power overall. At that rate the 1 Million Runtime Years Milestone will be in a little over 4 years time. It took 7 years to reach 0.5 Mry. The ratio is for sure not inline with Moore's law. I would have imagined a different curve more linear and less asymptotic. ![]() |

Actually, if taking year on year, there was a 10+% growth/speedup (4 days), but it's coming of less active machines, more cores, if eyeballing the data. Stiff competition in crunching land me thinketh, and surely an element of economic crisis and other elements I'll not bring up here.
We're seeing a post holiday speed up trend again. Schools/Colleges slowly returning to filling the benches. --//-- |
