Long story short, I need to find a copy of BOINC version 6.12.26.
When I was trying to install the most recent version of BOINC (6.12.33) on my PC, the system couldn't find the .msi file needed to uninstall the old version. Its just not in the folder at all. Its not corrupted, its just gone. Internet consensus seems to be that I need to reinstall the old version I was using and that should allow me to then upgrade. I wasn't sure which version I had been using, so I tried everything I could get my hands on (6.6.38, 6.10.60, 6.10.58 and even 5.10.45). It didn't work. The empty folder says it was created May 30, 2011. Based on the BOINC version history page (here) I believe that 6.12.26 is what I was using. Does anyone know where I could get it? I thought BOINC's homepage had a complete version download page on it, but I can't seem to find anything like that. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. With this machine offline, I'm down from 6 cores to 2. |

Hi, The other consensus is to just un-install once you have the old missing installer, at least you'll like only get offered ''repair'' or ''uninstall'' when you run the package. There is a download folder, but prefer not to link to that as it lists all the broken test releases too to include the latest 'next next' alpha client. You don't say what bit size, so: 64 bit: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.12.26_windows_x86_64.exe 32 bit: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.12.26_windows_intelx86.exe Let us know if things work / don't work out. --//-- |

Thank you Seke, doing a repair-install with 6.12.26 worked exactly the way the support pages said it would. I'm back online with all 6 cores, for science.
