Re: Is the quorum system the best valuation model?

besides 5,000,000 points is still not enough to buy a cup of coffee ;)
I love my coffee and if 5,000,000 points would buy me a nice, delicious, Mmmm, mmmm... boiling-hot cup of coffee, I would give that full amount if the coffeeBar agrees to have it served to me in 5minutes or less; 2,500,000 if served in 10-15minutes, and finally: claim that I never loved coffee in my entire life and what made them think I'm about to start now -- if they serve the coffee to me after 30minutes ! laughing

Quite right. A cruncher crunches a WU, and WCG processes the crunched-WU. For the same work, any speed-up -- in either or both area -- increases the value of the crunched-WU. Unfortunately, the quorum system does not recognize time at the client-side, let alone put a value to it. On the other hand, at the server-side, WCG has a deadline, and suddenly time now has meaning and is recognized ! It even has a value: 10-days, or 7-days ! wink. But, before a cruncher smiles after hoping that the WCG-server sees time as gold, think again: a cruncher won't get any piece of that gold regardless of how early the WU was received, but turn in that crunched-WU late, and some gold will be denied from the cruncher ! crying
