I asked this question in the beta forums over the weekend, but it was promptly covered up by the myriad of other posts. I received many HPF2 beta WUs that were of the op variety. We are currently only crunching the oo on HPF2. I wonder if these WUs will need to be recrunched when we get to the ops, or does the science count??? It seems to me that, since we were mainly testing new servers (???) that if the resulta are valid, then the science is valid. Any definitive thoughts on this?

I would hope that all valid results went to the appropriate projects. I agree that there should be no need to re-crunch them if they were valid. The admins or project heads will/should make the final call though.

Hello littlepeaks,
It seems to me that, since we were mainly testing new servers (???) that if the results are valid, then the science is valid. Any definitive thoughts on this? Nothing definitive. If the work units are new units, the project scientists will decide this. If the work units have already been crunched, then that speeds up the beta test checks but does not allow the new results to be used.Lawrence |
