2-Is the 5.10.45 the unique latest version possible to install on a DC ?

How can I make it run ?

regards

Re: DC - Win2003

Hi,

First things first: Would you please delete your duplicate posts in the Teams and Caring & Sharing forums. This one will be moved to BOINC support.

Now the problem: Here's a link to a Help article discussing the main error

Failure when receiving data from the peer

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewSe...ing+data+from+the+peer%22

Yes, 5.10.45 is the highest u can do a ''normal'' installation with. Some members have managed to install a later version, but you'd have to search the forums for that. It's not exactly a support way of doing things.

Sorry for duplicates!

The problem is not http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewSe...ing+data+from+the+peer%22
I guess it is more related to certificates and SSL, 'coz wcg is the only project that requires such authentications.

Re: DC - Win2003

Here's a thread with installation instructions by freqimus for 6.2.28 on a Domain Server, NOT a Domain Controller. Might function.

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,27741_offset,0#254333

Let us know if that works and we'll add it to the DC FAQ.

cheers

edit: further down in the first linked FAQ it continuing to refer to proxies and firewalls. For BOINC port 443 needs to be open, outward for a secure connection.

Re: DC - Win2003

Well think we need to define a few things and confirm as fact:

Is there a proxy? If so, follow this thread http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,24931_offset,0 which requires the addition of some debug log flags.

Is there a Firewall? Brand?

Possibly the ca-bundle.crt of 5.10.45 has expired [doubt it as there are no pointy messages for that and else many who still are on 5.10.45 would have issue]

Other security software that could mangle transmission?

PS, I have no doubt if you'd attach the client to malaria.control.net or Docking [a few worthy alternates to crunch for], you'd receive work without trouble.... yes it's something with the https bit as else the check if internet is up would have failed to resolve [google.com is supposed to be always up].
