Hello Everyone,
After a power outage, the BOINC Agent will not start. I get a message that states "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect". I have tried "repairing" and re-installing the program but I get the same message. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks. |

Hi Bob,
----------------------------------------This is the second "Rarity" problem for which today help is requested. Only 2 hits on our forums from past posts: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...=0&sort=1&rows=20 Something is corrupt. Let us know if any of the 2 old discussions [in the BETA test forum] causes a to light up.--//-- edit: In wider BOINC world this is shown as the complete error line: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (0x36b1)" After uninstalling, visit the C:\ProgramData\BOINC data directory and delete completely. Same for C:\Program Files\BOINC, then boot and do a new install, selecting Protect Application Execution for extra safety/sandboxing. Thanks for your help. I have tried these steps but still having the same issue. How do I select "Protect Application Execution" during the install? When running the setup, at some point there will a button called "advanced".Click it and tick the "protected application execution" box. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Bob,
Suspect there to have be some OS corruption. Run a disk check and an OS Repair. MS Gives a description of missing libraries: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955850 All search hits at MS: http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.a...og=LCID%3D1033&mode=r Maybe more shows in the Windows Event Viewer: See how: http://www.windows7update.com/Windows7-Event-Viewer.html --//-- |
