Is it bad when the electric company sends you a special letter informing you that you are using double the average electric usage of all your neighbors? (This is my second one. I figured they liked my checks every month) They also sent me the helpful hints and tips on how to conserve energy at home which I already pretty well do. (CFL bulbs, added insulation, newly caulked windows, etc...) This is even after shutting down 4 of my lower grade crunchers and selling my laptop. You could just write and tell them the extra juice is used for your kitchen experiments in nuclear fusion and offer to sell them the excess upon the successful conclusion of your endeavor. Cheers

Cheers Paint the meter with paint that blocks the low voltage signal--they make it for offices and buildings for wi-fi security--let them actually read the meter and do their job |

Tomorrow our electrical rates go from 6.4 to 7.3 cents per kwh (average over 24 hours). Already shutdown 2 systems (3 cores) for good. Lucky you! Here in Ontario, Canada, I pay about 14 cents per kWh. 24/7. happy crunching... ![]() crunching, crunching, crunching. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-core Processor with Windows 11 64 Pro. In Portugal we pay 0.17 cents(euro) per kwh.
----------------------------------------In september, taxes on electricity will increase from 6% to 23%. An increase of 11 euros per month and 132 per year.(in my case) Natural Gas also increases from 6% to 23% which means another 68 euros per year.(in my case) Not good... ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz [Edit 2 times, last edit by Falconet at Aug 14, 2011 6:54:07 PM] |

Completing all WUs and not grabbing any more until after hurricane IRENE passes through. Highly anticipate a lot of areas on the mid-Atlantic and New England coastal areas to be without power due to the storm. I got my portable generator to run the well water pump, chainsaw to remove downed trees, and my favorite coffee.
SekeRob's charts will show a noticeable dip. ![]() |

Hurricane is gone, no damage, I was lucky
hey just a thought, just to reduce the heat of my systems I keep them down in the cellar and rdp to them when I need to check or whatever - my cellar stays at about 60 degrees year round - natural air conditioning - just a thought |
