Hello,
I'm French and I do not speak a word of English. Google refuses to translate this forum and I could not get help for my problem. I apologize if this question has already been raised by others. On my PC running Windows 7 -64 bits. Boinc does not at all to connect to the server of World Community Grid . To clarify: I disabled the firewall, anti-virus software and configure the NAT port (443 and 31 416) of the router but to no avail, still no connection I have a second PC running XP and on the same network (router AliceBox) and he has no problem, everything works. It seems to me (Not sure) that my problems occurred after installing Skype. Therefore I request your help, thank you in advance. ![]() |

Hi phillipe,
All French seem to start off with ''I do not speak English", then what you write as do your compatriots is most all of the times quite comprehensible. Can you please copy/paste the message log from the start into a next reply. Then we'll try reading what's going on. Here's a link discussing a possible Skype/BOINC conflict, but for XP... there's mention of port 80+443. Let us know --//-- |

Thank you for your reply,
To understand my English. ... translators is very handy! I looked at the link snapped in Skype use ports 80 and 443 but it makes no difference to BOINC, my concern is more on Windows 7. All windows boinc are empty, no messages you copy/paste. I tried a few days ago to do a clean installation of programs, it may be the reason. In the menu of Boinc, I go through tools and join a project or account manager for a time after I get a message "Unable to connect" I can not say more ! ![]() |

Which client version are you running ... the WCG or the Berkeley release? BOINC Manager(boincmgr.exe) needs port 31416 over IP 127.0.0.1 by default [not going via router] to communicate with the core client (boinc.exe). 80/443 go outside to the projects. The 31416 port can be changed. If boinc.exe is not running of course there is nothing to connect to. Use the boinccmd tool to see if your core client is actually still working... it probably is if it's loaded.

Bonjour Phillipe,
----------------------------------------peut-être la formulation du problème en Français serait plus aisée à comprendre? Yves |

Hello,
Finally, I completely deleted everything related to Boinc on my hard drive. I also cleaned the registry of all entries in the program. Then I installed the latest version of the program (WCG 6.10.58) and the connection, this time, it is made. So the calculations on my pc again ! Thank you for your help, good continuation to all ! Merci quand même Yves ! ![]() |
