Welcome to the club, where you may check-out, but never leave
. Not all gamers know that BOINC has special configuration settings, so it will pause completely [when you need it to]. Just set the below 2 <options> in the cc_config.xml <exclusive_app>filename.exe</exclusive_app> BOINC will suspend computing whenever the executable is running (e.g., a game). Case is ignored in filenames. Multiple applications can be specified. New in 6.3.13 <exclusive_gpu_app>important.exe</exclusive_gpu_app> BOINC will suspend use of GPUs whenever the executable is running. New in 6.10.20 The latter essentially allows the continuation of crunching on CPU, whilst your GPU is freed up for gaming. Of course BOINC can be set in general to not use the GPU when using the computer. This is controlled with the "Use GPU while computer is in use" tick box. Happy crunching. --//-- |
