Missing files in transfers tab

Hello

I have a lot of task in Task tab in Uploading status, but in Transfers tab there are no uploads.
I restarted the Boinc and OS as well multiple times.
I can see the files ready for upload in /var/lib/boinc-client/projects
I can see disk usage everything but not the needed transfers.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Missing files in transfers tab

Hi Randzo,

The only thing I can figure out from your post that it's Linux. What Linux, what client version, where installed from, what projects?

Thought till now that files to upload are in the ..\slots\ until the result is uploaded. At times I've seen this that "to-upload" files do not appear in transfer until the upload commences. Don't know why.

Meantime, have you also checked the Result Status page... are they still showing as ''in progress"?

edit: Of course you've hit the update button in the BM projects tab and you've read the message log for any spurious entries. What's it say there when an update is done?

Re: Missing files in transfers tab

Hello
Thank you for your answer.
Yes they are still in progress.
OS is Ubuntu Lucid Lynx x64
Boinc 6.10.17 installed using apt-get -i

I have noticed strange thing, when I first started BM there was info about missing files.
So I stopped Boinc and looked into boinc-client folder.
project and slots folders were were in capital letters.
So linux didn`t recognized them (I copied them but letters changed to capital ones SLOTS and PROJECTS first time, very strange) so I renamed them into normal ones.

I restarted boinc and now I can see this situation.

My guess is that this WU are lost am I correct?

Thank for help and any ideas.

Re: Missing files in transfers tab

Think you best hit the Update button in BM, so BOINC can refresh and yes, in doing this renaming, you may have lost the result files.

Linux is case-sensitive i.e. SLOTS is not the same as slots. These folders get created at start of a task and are numbered and keep incrementing until a task has done the final upload. Then the slot folder is cleared and deleted, so it can be re-created for a new task.

If things continue to look messed up and the message log give bad signals you might want to go ahead and do a project reset.

The slots-directory is normally cleaned-out immediately after a task has finished, and the actual upload happens from the project-directory.

As for nothing showing-up in transfer-tab, if network is currently suspended for any reason, it's not certain any new transfer will show-up (AFAIK version-dependent that shows-up or not...). Resuming network should show all transfers.
