(Tried to search a bit, but didn't see anything relevant.)
----------------------------------------I try to check the "Results Status" of my PCs every night. So, there are 12 "statuses" in the select list. I assume that "All" is all of them, and that "Aborted" should consist of "User Aborted" and "Server Aborted" results. (Maybe that's not true.) I check the results because I want to make sure there are no problems on my PCs as far as WCG runs. It would be wonderful to me if I only had to check this one time. As it is, I have to individually check each of the statuses "Error", "No Reply", "Invalid", "Inconclusive", "Too Late" and "Aborted". Suggestion: add a status of "Bad" (or whatever you want to call it) to cover all those cases. Then anyone can easily check whether they have problems, in a couple of clicks instead of a dozen. ("Good" statuses are "In Progress", "Pending Validation", or "Valid". "Inconclusives" are not good, because they need to be watched to make sure they don't turn Invalid). Thanks for your consideration. |

Hi,
You searched so hard, that you could not see the latest thread in the Website Support forum proposing that multiple statuses can be picked , and remembered... no additional status required ;>) http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,31311 --//-- |

Over a year later, and one "major" change on the Results Status web page: the "Inconclusive" status was renamed "Pending Verification", too similar to "Pending Validation" IMHO. I thought "Inconclusive" described that status fairly well.
----------------------------------------But still no option to just list all the "bad" statuses to check for problems. So here is a crude but effective web page to check them all at once, rather than one-by-one: <html><head><title>Bad WCG Stati</title></head> <body> <iframe width=35% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view...mp;projectId=-1"> <p>Browser does not support iFrames width=33% height=33%s.</p></iframe> <iframe width=35% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view..."></iframe> <iframe width=32% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view..."></iframe> <iframe width=32% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view..."></iframe> <iframe width=32% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view..."></iframe> <iframe width=32% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view..."></iframe> <iframe width=32% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view..."></iframe> <iframe width=32% height=50% src="https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/view..."></iframe> </body> </html> The part with the ellipses (...) is "ms/viewBoincResults.do?filterDevice=0&filterStatus=STS&projectId=-1", where STS is 5, 6, 1, 2, 7, 11, 12, and 13 on the iFrame lines in order. I couldn't get the Quote or Code tags to give the whole line. You do have to log on to the WCG web site first. You can rearrange the frames as you like, but on my PC, the status order, widths and heights give me a decent layout with Invalid and Enjoy, or ignore. |

Ho Goedel,
First, you can save yourself all the hassle by fetching a copy of pirogue's great WCGDAWS tool. You can sort, filter on all parameters you'd like with that [science/device/(multiple)statuses and more], in any fashion you'd like, once a day. In addition, it keeps history of all work units plus generates a whole slew of averages and totals. For the webpage code sample, you'd have to write up an explanation as most would not understand how to go about with this. cheers --//-- |

First, you can save yourself all the hassle by fetching a copy of pirogue's great WCGDAWS tool. You can sort, filter on ... a whole slew of averages and totals. Hmm, that's interesting, but it seems to be for Windows PCs. My main PC runs Linux. And I don't want a whole slew of anything, I just wanted a quick check that I'm not returning any results with bad statuses to WCG.For the webpage code sample, you'd have to write up an explanation as most would not understand how to go about with this.--//-- OK, I uploaded my version from my /home directory to a free web host, and here is the link.If you're logged on when you're viewing this thread, you can click on the above link and it should show the 8 status pages after the ads. If you don't mind the ads, one click is about as small a hassle as can be. Otherwise, you can View Source and search for "world" to find the 8 full iFrame lines, and copy them to your own .html file, if you wish. Or save the page and edit it with vi, gedit, KompoZer, WordPad, or your favorite text/web-page editor. Or not. |
