I set my cache on device manager for 2 days and one of my computers is getting 2 days worth of projects but the other ones are not. Even when I do "update" it will run the scheduler but not grab more than the default number of projects "0.2" days. What's the deal?
All my computers are set to the same profile. So I go to that profile and go to "customize" and I set that cache limit to 2 days worth and made sure the "default profile" check box was checked at the top. So I thought this would apply to all computers since they are set to that profile. Did I do this wrong? |

go to boinc manager, preferances, and hit the clear buttton, if you had changed the cache setting there, the website will NOT override, when you hit clear it will revert to the web site settings

I had changed the settings through the website. I wasn't aware there was a cache setting in the boinc manager, and yeah clearing the local preferences worked. Thanks!

There's a serious nasty about the local prfs. If only 1 field is changed **, the global/website prefs are first copied to a local file and then the local change is applied to that. From there on the web prefs, but for a few exceptions, are ignored.
** not making a change at all, just opening local prefs and hitting OK will do it. Many have been caught out by this. The *Cancel* button is the one to take, to not make or store a local *override* copy. --//-- PS, please edit opening post title and insert [RESOLVED] just as per the title of my reply. |
