Howdy everyone.. i'm pretty much back in full swing.. However... if you're watching the news.. tornado hit Joplin, Missouri hard just awhile ago.. heading towards me.. (general area).. Dr. Mike.. Hey man, it is SO good to hear from you!! You've had folks worried. Hope things are back to a good normal for you for a long time to come. Looking at the radar, it does look like some heavy stuff came through. Noticed that what looked to be a southwest to northeast line of bad storms seems to be shifting to a west-east line with the west end "anchored" between Joplin and Bentonville which probably means that area is getting hit really hard. What you got about 7:30 your time seems to have gone south though out to the east, it's still hanging on to the St. Louis area. Don't disappear on us again! ![]() |

Rough projections have us surpassing our 2009 production around mid-June. We're now averaging 784K points a day and rising. That has us looking at 286 million for the year. We seem to have "settled in" to a low-to-mid-900k typical day. Hopefully, our next "breakout" will raise that to something over a million per day. A 300 million year should be reachable and we have an increasing improving shot at 325. Another newsletter from WCG to everyone wouldn't hurt either!

Aloha everyone. Only a few days away from my 9 million points milestone. Congrats to the recent milestone earners :) First semester of post-grad is nearly over and my exam is in less than a week away now. I officially start full-time at as an IT support officer for a high school tomorrow. Looking forward to a regular income again and getting some solid on-the-job experience on the technical and support side of the field. Not especially fond of the early mornings though.. My 'little' sister is also in America at the moment, currently somewhere in Minnesota right now. She's studying aboard at a Washington university for the year and loving what you Americans have to offer. She's also starting to adopt your accent too forming a mutant Australian-American accent.. And apparently so many of you's truly believe we ride kangaroos everywhere. So to set the the record straight, we had to give that up years ago as their unions weren't happy with their dental plan. Otherwise stay safe and well everyone. You'll adjust to the early mornings. I doubt you'll have to deal with much in the way of weekend or overnight "change windows" though so there will be plenty of IT types out there jealous of you. Don't worry about the mutant accent. It won't last. ![]() ![]() |

Those who give up freedom for security loose both-roughly what Benjamin Franklin said. In Texas we have a state medical board that some feel is out of control! Currently I am exercising my rights and participating in an act of civil disobedience. I was reported by the medical director of the Texas Workmen's Compensation agency after he and his sidekick lawyer interrogated me for two hours and could find nothing I had done wrong. Which is against their own rules by the way! See, I am extremely outspoken and I fight really hard for the injured employees I treat (yes some people scam the system but show me a system where people do not scam it!!!). Unfortunately the current Texas Workmen's Compensation system is broken and God help you if you are severly injured on the job as, in my opinion, you will not receive treatment nor in a timely manner to have any chance of returning to work in most cases. Thus I am put in the position to watch people loose everything they have worked for, their self esteem and often their significant other. It is a lot of fun, especially if you care about your fellow citizen!!! Unfortunately in the USA so many of our fellow citizens are afraid or oblivious to the malicious behavior of many government agencies figuring that, in my opinion, if they do not draw attention to themselves they will avoid scrutiny! Unfortunately this just encourages them! Having lobbied many times in our state and national capital it is amazing the power of lobbyist! If you have never spent time during the legislative session at your state, provence or national goverment, you need to. It is one thing to read about what goes on in the papers it is another to go see how the process actually works. No you probably will not see any secret deals going down but you can at least gain a better sense of how it works. I highly recommend if you have a chance to go lobby with some organization you belong to, for an issue important to you do so as , in my experience it give one a better understanding of how influence works. My experience? At the end of the day $$$$ works!!!!! Good morning Team! Well thank God for people like you.We more or less have the same problem in Virginia--bureaucrats out of control. Two years ago i joined the local Tea Party and we have changed a lot in the State House, also the local RINO party--we took it over!!I always felt Workman's Comp.was a waste of money the way it was implemented not to mention the expense. In 25 years i paid over 200,000.00 for WC and I felt it only helped the Insurance companies and i never had anyone draw from it-this is a sore point for me and i know for a fact some people would get hurt at home and claim it was on the job. ![]() |

I love the accent hope she doesn't loose it --she will have a great time and maybe learn something Last time we were on Skype she was amazed how Aussie we sounded. I guess thats the whole getting-used to it and not actually hearing it anymore. She's not learning a great deal from uni per se, but a massive amount about life (living overseas independently.) I think she's probably more grown up than me now..I hope your sister is enjoying her time in Minnesota and we are extending good hospitality to her. Is she studying in Washington State or Washington DC. ? I would also hope most of us know know better than to think you are into kangaroo riding ! Congrats on the job. I keep forgetting about the the second Washington! She's in Washington DC. One of her most fond memories so far was she was with the other celebrators there when the news broke about Osama bin Laden. Very fitting as she's a history major. As for you ozzies riding roos, that sounds a lot like us tossing cow chips over here. It's something that probably popped into someone's head late on a Friday night after a LOT of unwinding from the week! She's actually also trying to inform everyone about our "drop bear problem" and how dangerous they are.. but unfortunately as soon as she goes onto Google to get a picture, the first search result on Wikipedia spoils it! Ahh well..![]() First day spent working on inventory of all of the schools desktops. Who knew a school would have that many computers? I'm not done yet and just about to break the 300 mark.. |

Good sized trees were broken and twisted liked a toothpick. I did stop at a bowling alley for dinner where I had catfish for the first time in my life. That was the best meal I ever had. |

From what I've seen on/in the news so far, things look really bad in Joplin. I've seen homes and business destroyed by tornados before but I think this is the first time I've seen a concrete parking deck damaged like the one at that hospital!
