if you like the movie sure, i don't mind that, no one is perfect. But seriously, most faithful to the book? Is that a joke? Or haven't you actually read the book?

Still, with 3 large books, a prequel, an entire history including languages; and given that "Hollyweird" can not authentically recreate a movie from Cliff Notes; the producers stayed very faithful to the books.
Because translating a novel to a movie requires some creative changes to maintain the spirit of the original novel(s), they still get the "nod."
I can understand changes like that... to adapt it. But they went further then that, it went beyond adaption and became "lets bugger the movie sideways".
