Hello everybody,
I have a huge WU on my computer. It has been calculating for more than 27 hours. However, the dead line for reporting was today 1 PM... And the WU is 91% complete. I've just seen that a new replication has been sent to another participant. Does it mean that I will not receive points when I report the completed calculation (by the end of the day) ? Thank you very much, have a nice day. Jean-Philippe |

This happened to me once, I sent the result back before the second replication sent theirs back and although it was originally marked as "Too Late" I did get the points for it....

Thank you very much for your answer (and excuse me for my poor English level...).
I'm relieved because it would just be so unfair... And I would be so glad to get a bronze badge for this project (I have 11 days 10 hours so far). If the project doesn't grants me points (and the 28 hours of calculation), I think it will be hard to reach the bronze badge by the end of the project in April... So, I hope ! Thank you again, Jean-Philippe |

Hopefully, your WU will be returned before the replacement has started being crunched on someone else's machine - as that way, their's will be 'Server Aborted'.

Thank you everybody.
I've just finished the WU, and the points have been granted just after the upload. That's cool ! I don't like to be late, but I don't wan't to let the computer calculate all the night long if I don't use it for something else. I hope I will get a bronze badge for this project soon ! Thank you for your answers, and have a nice evening. Jean-Philippe |

Not to worry, if the other person returns his result before you and yours reports before they are removed from the validator, the most likely result is that all three will report as valid.
----------------------------------------If you report before the third person and they have already started processing, the system will wait for the third result until the deadline. It's just a small waste of cpu resources and potentially more useful information for the scientists. Distributed computing volunteer since September 27, 2000 |

Maybe you can lower your work unit cache size to avoid this situation happened again.

If it is just run time for the badge you were worried about, then you would still get the run time even if it was passed the deadline. The points on the other hand is still in the "maybe" category in these situations.
