Re: New stats program

...The straight 'delete' function already works... select records of choice, hit delete and out they are.

Not for me.
No change after hitting delete (button from the menu bar or Delete key from the keyboard). Not with v1.3.1.2 and also not with the newest version 1.3.2.0.
Windows Vista64.

Re: New stats program

Weird. Got the .Net 4.0 framework installed and sql... no idea how that would facilitate it, or if at all is related. Just tried with some aborted task records and 1.3.2 and sure enough, [delete key on numeric pad], small delay and gone. W7-64. Love it.

edit: There's always been, still is, this irking link between WCGDAWS and my Office package [now 2013]. Just this morning when I had a range selected in Excel, get the 'access denied' when trying to copy more than 1 line in WCGDAWS.

Re: New stats program

Purge based on date would be perfect for that.

No rush on upgrades. I don't intend to presume to make plans for your free time.smile The 'delete' or 'move' thing will work just fine until you get around to doing whatever you think is appropriate, if anything.

Many thanks!
I just noticed this post. I think I'm going blind. That request will be a little trickier, but I'll see what I can do. No promises on timeframe.

No rush at all. My workaround has been working fine for me, but Purge based on date would be nice.
Thanks again!

Re: New stats program

Now that we have 2 different application, FAAH and the VINA version of that under FAHV with substantially shorter run time [7 hours versus .55 hours under Linux, could you maybe add a WU Name filter function?

Whilst asking for that, the momentary workaround at present is to filter on FA@H project tasks and a run time of less than 2.3 hours [occasional FAHV outlier], but then I do not run on Android where they are reportedly take 5 hours or more, putting them into the FAAH runtime realm.

Thx

Re: New stats program

Hi pirogue,

Here's one more that will/might help WCG in reducing hit load by the program [and the ever increase, grateful, userbase adding to that]. We're now about to hit 2 million tasks a day again, and this is not GPU crunch time, just 2 sciences with small tasks. I've noticed it takes the program quite a while to work through the 30 active result pages each time it runs, but then it is also hitting these for all the completed sciences. Would it be possible to add tickbox select list for sciences to look for, just 3 now+beta out of 22. Whilst, I've not studied how the program pulls and indexes the fetched data. If it draws in all Result Status pages, then processes the data locally, it would not make a difference, and the request can be binned, but given it paces through "working on... " for all there were from oldest science to newest, it may be be food for thought, if only to reduce the update time.

Many thx for your consideration.

P.S. just passed 50K records... time for me to slim it down :D

Re: New stats program

re: Jul 24 - should be easy

re: Aug 14 - There shouldn't be too much extra load for sciences with no results. In generic terms, the process works like this:
1. go to the Results Status page
2. select a science
3. click filter
4. process results
5. repeat 2-4 for each science

Re: New stats program

Hi pirogue

I've had problems collecting the stats after the updates to the website today. Do you think it'll go away when they finish fixing things or will you have to do some reworking of your code as well?

P.S. thanks for the work you've done on it up till now.

Re: New stats program

I just saw that there was a new project today. I also had a couple of posts on my forums about this problem. I'll be having a look tonight.

Hopefully, the website redesign didn't eliminate the possibility to login the way I am doing it.

Any changes we made should not have impacted that. Contact me via support@worldcommunitygrid.org if it did.

Re: New stats program

pirogue you might want to have a look at the thread on the new design and the one on screen scrapers. It looks like there may be other changes in the coming months, but perhaps the techs can give you some advance warning of what and when.

Or perhaps a csv or xml stats download option on the members results page with all the WU data shown on the results page included could be arranged? That would hopefully be immune to further site redevelopment and redesign and remove the need for you to revisit your code after every minor change to the site.
