Hi,
----------------------------------------I am running 6.10.58 agent on my WinXP laptop. Recently found my tasks running extremely slow. For example, a task normally takes 6-10 hrs to complete now running for over 40 hrs to get only 15%. I have tried to reboot my computer, aborted all tasks and download again, reset my project. Also uninstall my agent and reinstall again but no help. Any idea what the problem is or suggestion on where to look further? [Edit 1 times, last edit by kkwok at Mar 14, 2011 4:15:12 AM] |

Sorry for false alarm. It was caused by a indexing problem cisvc.exe and it was solved now.

Hi kkwok,
----------------------------------------Glad you found the cause. Here's a technical discussion of this Windows "Content Indexing Service," http://tech.blorge.com/Structure:%20/2009/02/...it-slow-down-my-computer/. Similar with Windows 7 and Vista, once they actually had completed the full disk index, the daily time recorded in the Task Manager [first place to visit if something starts running slow], they take very little time and can be configured when to do the job. The ''but'' mentioned in the article is spyware that has replaced the original indexing service so best run some cleaning tools to detect any other hiding problem... maybe you actually did? Happy Crunching. --//-- edit: Can you please edit the opening post title and insert [RESOLVED] same as this post. Then all know the case is closed. thx [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 13, 2011 8:33:28 AM] |
