Malware reported by AVG

My AVG 2011 Free has suddenly (a few days ago) started reporting a corrupt file to be malware (adware/spyware) - the file referred to is "WMCG_HCMD2_MAXDO_GRAPHICS_6.15_WINDOWS_INTELX86" which keeps reloading after AVG has quarantined it.

Is it really malware? Anyone else having this problem?

Re: Malware reported by AVG

It's just a false positive.

Also that version is outdated.Reset the project to get the latest file which is wcg_hcmd2_maxdo_graphics_6.40_windows_intelx86

Re: Malware reported by AVG

Hi,

That will probably have been since March 1 when all WCG science applications were updated to v 6.40, accompanied by a new signing key. You may ignore this till all 6.15 versions of tasks are complete or do a project reset. Then the client will download all new 6.40 versions and erase all traces of the old ones.

See announcement: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,30943

Thank you! I was just about to ask the same question.
