Re: Ubuntu crashing

Stumbled on an interesting comment in an extensive article on SD/MMC/USB drive employment in Linux, USB drives able to hang Linux for minutes or permanently.

http://lwn.net/Articles/428584/

One I knew was setting up bigger blocks and so done on my Sandisk Cruzer, but never thought of employing the larger SD cards on the shelf and in the course free up a USB port. Next trial and error run is in progress.

Hope it informs a bit more (and surely will cause some woosh on all :-)

Re: Ubuntu crashing

Spoke to soon. Another crash. At least it reboots and keeps crunching.

Hi Bearcat.

Sorry to hear that, you must be one of the unlucky ones although on the ubuntu forums

there have been a lot of people having problems with 10.10.

I'm still running 8.04lts on my intel quad without any problems, and i've got 10.04lts on my

hex core, never had a problem with it touch wood. biggrin

Have you ran 10.04 before, any problems? might be worth a try going back.

my 2c worth.

Re: Ubuntu crashing

That's a thought to go back. I think it's an update doing it. Hopefully it will be figured out soon. Ticking me off.
