Hi
As per title . sxx work units download no problem the Ps go round in circles.Painfully slowly reaching 100% then back to 4o% Waited over four hours on four downloads then aborted.Just received two more ,same behaviour. Having no problems with the big CEP2 files it just occurs with pxxx unitsdownloading uploading is fine. Sample of messages; 03/03/2011 19:46:48 World Community Grid Requesting new tasks for CPU and GPU .03/03/2011 19:46:55 World Community Grid Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 03/03/2011 19:46:55 World Community Grid Message from server: Another scheduler instance is running for this host 03/03/2011 19:47:21 Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 03/03/2011 19:47:21 World Community Grid Temporarily failed download of ts01_c_g07_c061_to_c070_typeC_ts01_c064_ts01_phi_18.dat.gzb: HTTP error 03/03/2011 19:47:21 World Community Grid Backing off 2 min 17 sec on download of ts01_c_g07_c061_to_c070_typeC_ts01_c064_ts01_phi_18.dat.gzb 03/03/2011 19:47:22 Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down Chris. |

Hi,
yes, I've had past experiences too, on my Linux box only, and found that limiting the download speed in BOINC to for instance 48Kb made the big compressed file to come across without timeouts occurring, without i resuming from an earlier point. Still hating an anonymous ISP somewhere in between Toronto and Central Nowhereland. In this case it's probably the 16.693 Mb file doing this, noting that presently there is likely some extra pull on the servers due a 5 hour scheduler outage this morning. --//-- |

Hi thanks
Have changed max download in prefs to 48 kb sec. Will see if that works for me. Any idea what this means' Message from server: Another scheduler instance is running for this host'.? been getting it all afternoon . Thanks again Chris. (not the Seti cruncher in the stat box  ) |
