Hello, I have a preference whereas I name all my computers "Admin" (Don't ask lol) I was wondering if there's any way to change the name of installed devices on the website so I can manage them easier. I plan on installing more clients in the future and having them all named "Admin" would be confusing. I have 3 installed right now. Thanks.

Calling all your devices the same name can and most likely IS a source of trouble on a LAN. To WCG it's secondary as each device sends along a numeric identifier and internal IP to find it's way. Too you looking at the Result status page will present a mess, specially when diagnosing which computer is producing error results.
----------------------------------------To answer the question: No you can't change names with BOINC on the website, but if you use network identifier suppression in the cc_config.xml by adding the line <suppress_net_info>1</suppress_net_info> you can get the numeric identifier to show on the Result Status page such as 1479939 and then put a sticker on each computer to tell what their assigned number is. Somewhere in the Start Here FAQ's is a topic or paragraph how to do this. Been using this for years, as the WCG device number is meaningless on the intertube whereas Mrkindness-01 is traceable thus when posting message logs, these names are preferably removed... call it ''good'' paranoia. --//-- edit: And I'm still upset to this day that GridRepublic/BOINCstats account managers still continue to ignore that instruction and exchange the device names directly, so there Mr.Kindness-01 would show, even when setting to hide the device information to the public. I'm all for allowing modification of the BOINC device name to disconnect from the real life device name as it is known on a network.
