Hi there,
----------------------------------------during installation I got the message: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path fo a folder containing the installatione package 'World Community Grid - BOIMC for Windows.msi' in the box below. it gives me even a path where it probably should be: D:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations\{EBE7B70B-67CF-4935-808F-9339F92DF158}\ I found a path with windows search, but I got another message wich read Error 1706 The path cannot be found so what is going wrong?? It may be a corrupt installer file. You might want to redownload it and try again.

Tylendel,
Was/IS BOINC on this system from a prior install? If so, refetch that version and run that one again... uninstall. Then install the later version package. --//-- (Did a check on my own system and this is a WCG BOINC skinned kit that goes back to at least before June 30, 2010... suspect it is 6.2.28 as 6.10.58 was not released until September 28, 2010. Regrettably the installer does not show the version being installed, so not 100% sure.) |

I tried to uninstall the previous boinc and got a similiar message:-(( also tried to download a second and a third time

You cannot uninstall because the boinc.msi was removed from the path you posted (An overzealous butler did that ;-). You have to do nasty cleanup stuff or refetch the old kit (version may still be listed in the Windows @installed software@ list.) If it's the suspected 6.2.28 then this is the path to download again: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/wcg_boinc_6.2.28_windows_intelx86.exe

problem solved. I downloaded the windows install clean up program and now it works
