Are you using a proxy? As other users mentioned, the clock being off can cause this problem. Can you double check the time zone setting in addition to the system time? Another possibility is the ca-bundle.crt which is installed by BOINC and will be in the BOINC installation directory. You can check that this file is the same size as the other computers which are able to connect and also copy it from one of those computers. Seippel |

Thanks for the reply 'seippel'.
The clock is correct and a couple of team mates are now trying to instruct me in doing exactingly what you told me to do. Since my capabilities in computers are lacking I have been trying to find these files and still having problems finding them. I tried one of those ca-bundles-crt with no luck so far. |

I don't follow your post. What did you mean by trying one of those ca-bundles.crt? If you aren't able to find ca-bundles-crt, the easiest way (assuming you installed BOINC from the WCG site) is to click Start -> Programs -> World Community Grid -> right click on WCG - BOINC manager and click properties. The directory listed next to "Start in" is where the ca-bundles.crt file should be. Seippel |

Didn' tdownload from the WCG...used SETI @home. As soon as I get my computer back will follow your directions. Computer was acting up a bit...slowing down, really slowing down. tried a number of things for a couple of days and nothing I did worked. Item in the repair shop and hopefully I get back a workoing machine. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. |
