I have been running the various projects since I became a member nearly three years ago and had accumulated over 300,000 points. A couple of days ago I found that the UD agent was not able to send in a result nor download a new work unit. Eventually, not being able to solve the problem, I uninstalled then reinstalled the agent.
From there things got strange, like being in a parallel universe. I could no longer log in and had to re-register with a new ID. The whole look of the various Grid windows had changed, from having a dark blue background to a totally different colour scheme. Even the icon in my taskbar had changed from being a dark blue oval into a pale blue vee shaped icon. It almost seems as if I am on a totally different website although the content of various windows, stats, forums etc remains the same the appearance has changed. Does anyone have any idea what I've done wrong and how can I return to my former member name and access my previous history? Any help gratefully received! Hey Anthony,
i think you are confusing this project with the United Devices project. These two project use exactly the same client but will run different projects. The URL you need is www.grid.org. Although it would be nice if you stay with the World Community Grid too. We can use all the power we can get. Greetings |

The reason your agent wouldn't connect with the server at UD was because the main database server went down with a low level hardware problem.
When the server came back up the integrity of the database had to be checked and this took awhile. So everything is backup and running at grid.org. But it appears you are now crunching HPF at WCG. Might as well stay here unless cancer drug discovery is your reason for crunching. The HPF project is the same for both grids. |
