Hi nanoprobe,
----------------------------------------I'm awake again. The first thing I see is "Reading preferences override file" which seems odd* since you said that you had CLEARed the override file. I don't know if there is anything objectionable in it, but it is definitely replacing your default values on the website with its own values. Better clear it again, then UPDATE to read the website default values. Lawrence *edited to appropriate forum language - ErikaT [Edit 1 times, last edit by ErikaT at Dec 20, 2010 12:33:22 PM] |

I posted the screenshot after I had tried to override the default values with a new set. Maybe the problem is somehow fixing itself. I now have 3 WUs in cache. Not a half days' worth but a start. Stay tuned.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

The cache is slowly rebuilding and is now up to 8. I haven't done anything except just let it run.

That is the same effect my Quad had, but if you reduce your cache back down again, I have a feeling that it will take a while to build up again when you try to raise it.

I take it that your stats for the machine are now being created and starting to look realistic for what the computer is doing.
----------------------------------------If the computer is behaving correctly, yes your WUs in cache should increase / improve as the stats are updated every day. Patrick ![]() |

Do you also run a GPU BOINC project on that machine, or any other project besides WCG? Or did you in the past?
----------------------------------------I have the same problem on one of my machines that runs both WCG and a GPU BOINC project. Here's what worked for me. Go to Projects in the BOINC Manager. Click on World Community Grid, and then on Properties. In the window that appears, scroll down so that you can see the entire "Scheduling" section. Do you have huge-magnitude negative number showing for CPU scheduling priority and CPU work fetch priority? If so, that's the problem. BOINC thinks WCG is getting way more than its share of the work compared to the other project. Here's the link that gave me the solution: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration I added <options> <zero_debts>1</zero_debts> </options> to my cc_config.xml file, and restarted the BOINC client. I quickly got enough WCG tasks to fill out my quota. ![]() |
