Hey, I am having a lot of trouble getting BOINC to run on accounts that aren't windows administrator accounts. It works the first time and after reboot, all the user info disappears. The OS on the machine in question is vista x64. Anyone have any ideas?

Just a few for starters: Who's the owner, who's got the rights, what's the function of the device (Domain Controller maybe?), was the BOINC installed as service or as user?

Basically the account it's supposed to be running on is an underprivileged account. I figured it out though...basically no matter which account I installed it from or set the rights as BOINC's folders are inaccessible.
----------------------------------------So what I did was 1. take a folder with full accessibility and copy it. 2. I then renamed the new (copied) folder to BOINC 3. Copied the original BOINC file's contents into this new folder 4. Deleted the original BOINC file 5. Copied this new folder with the proper permissions to the original place. 6. Repeated this process for the BOINC data folder I hope this helps anyone else having similar problems [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 13, 2010 11:56:33 PM] |
