This morning looked in and the Tasks view showed 5 tasks in state of download since hours **. When visiting the Transfer tab see "only" 4 files to download, each 15.92MB, which was puzzling. These had been endlessly retrying. Then, set the download bandwidth down to 64KB and trickle resumed by clicking on 1 file at the time to "retry now" them all sitting there with several hours back-off. When getting down to the next, the oddity was that when that one finished, the below 2 simultaneous switched to "Ready to Start" in the tasks view. Two DDDT2 work units depending on 1 input file or could this be the cause of the ts_05 failings?
----------------------------------------ts05_ a150_ pr78b1_ 1-- 1292373 In Progress 12/3/10 02:14:05 12/13/10 02:14:05 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 ts05_ a150_ pr78a0_ 0-- 1292373 In Progress 12/3/10 02:13:45 12/13/10 02:13:45 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 Overnight several ts01 of the "se" B Type completed successfully. edit: From the message log, the below 4 files related to these 5 results in download state, each said 15.92MB in size, and as is clear their file names not matching well with the task names to the outside observer, but the highlighted line being the one that turned the 2 above into RtS state, leaving 2 Tasks to show as in download state: Fri 03 Dec 2010 09:58:32 AM CET WCG Finished download of ts05_a_g32_a311_to_a320_typeC_ts05_a313_ts05_phi_18.dat.gzb Fri 03 Dec 2010 10:02:27 AM CET WCG Finished download of ts05_a_g15_a141_to_a150_typeC_ts05_a150_ts05_phi_18.dat.gzb Fri 03 Dec 2010 10:06:44 AM CET WCG Finished download of ts05_a_g15_a141_to_a150_typeC_ts05_a143_ts05_phi_18.dat.gzb Fri 03 Dec 2010 10:12:11 AM CET WCG Finished download of ts05_a_g15_a141_to_a150_typeC_ts05_a142_ts05_phi_18.dat.gzb ** The deadline time stamp signifies when a task was assigned.รน edit2: On both the wingman failed with a code 29 after 0.00 hours, so after suspend, aborted them.

How are the ones in PV going to validate with so many being aborted?

Outright guessing here...
...flush the errors from the results then release the PV's to send make up units? |

How are the ones in PV going to validate with so many being aborted? Going by the last incident, they will not be validated. ![]() |

FWIW the outcomes so far were:
----------------------------------------30 valid-only 2 ts05 32 PV-10 ts05 113 errors-all ts05 There was varying amounts of time on the failed ones. Most errored immediately but the ones that had any time did get awarded points.

The problem I observed was that they ran for a lot longer then they were given credit for. An example I had was one that ran for 13 hours but I only got 4 hours of credit when it Errored. Sounds like an awful lot of wasted time.

Coleslaw,
----------------------------------------The only "singular" report of 13 hours and 4 hours being reported / credited was you, so can't see how it became "they". My BOINCTasks has logged about 25 DDDT2 B+C tasks since launch of last run, including 2 that erred out on ts05 and average they ran 98%+ efficiency. None lost themselves in endless loops. The 2 logged per BOINCtasks with fail: 6.17 dddt2 ts05_a142_sdb001_0 01:36:36 (01:32:14) 03-12-2010 17:59 03-12-2010 18:01 Reported: Computation error (29,) 6.17 dddt2 ts05_a148_sr89a0_0 01:32:33 (01:30:40) 03-12-2010 14:33 03-12-2010 14:35 Reported: Computation error (29,) Same 2 showing on Result Status page: ts05_ a142_ sdb001_ 0-- 1292373 Error 3-12-10 02:15:48 3-12-10 17:00:11 1.54 28.0 / 28.0 ts05_ a148_ sr89a0_ 0-- 1292373 Error 3-12-10 00:14:10 3-12-10 13:34:01 1.51 27.5 / 27.5 Much appreciate if you could post the detail from message log. Of course, if your hosting computer was busy and was backing off, then on wallclock the results could well have taken 13 hours, and done real 4 hours of computing, but that is not a failure of the application to log CPU time. --//-- edit: Sat there and watching how twice the "Computation Error 29" appeared in the Tasks View status column happened exactly upon 100% completion, cycling at normal progress speed through to about 99.988% or something just short of 100%. It's as if the wrap up goes belly up.
