Hello Alfgo,
To change to All Users, reboot, uninstall BOINC, download BOINC from WCG, reinstall to All Users, reconnect to WCG. Lawrence |

Have you updated to the newest Avira version recently?
----------------------------------------About 9 days ago, I updated to the newest Avira and my system became very unstable if left running more than 24 hours without a restart. explorer.exe would have major problems, causing directories to not open or files to not work properly. I uninstalled Avira and switched to Avast about 30 hours ago and so far haven't had any more problems (I know 30 hours isn't very long but Avira couldn't last that long). Here is a snippet of the stdoutdae file while running under Avira: 16-Nov-2010 03:14:04 [World Community Grid] Computation for task X0000106780522200901230943_0 finished 16-Nov-2010 03:14:04 [World Community Grid] Output file X0000106780522200901230943_0_0 for task X0000106780522200901230943_0 absent 16-Nov-2010 03:14:04 [World Community Grid] Starting HFCC_L3_00511480_L3_0000_0 16-Nov-2010 03:14:16 [World Community Grid] [error] Process creation failed: 16-Nov-2010 03:14:17 [World Community Grid] [error] Process creation failed: 16-Nov-2010 03:14:18 [World Community Grid] [error] Process creation failed: 16-Nov-2010 03:14:19 [Leiden Classical] [error] Process creation failed: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. (0x5aa) 16-Nov-2010 03:14:20 [Leiden Classical] [error] Process creation failed: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. (0x5aa) Edit: It appears that the Avira SP1 for Ver. 10 is causing problems with some XP SP3 systems. Here is one link on the Avira forums, and there are several other threads about similar problems. http://forum.avira.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=122640 [Edit 2 times, last edit by BobCat13 at Nov 18, 2010 4:41:59 AM] |

Hello again,
----------------------------------------I followed the advise of BobCat13. And really the problem was caused by antivirsoftware Avira. I´ve deinstalled Avira and let Boinc running without antivirsoftware to see, if Avira is causing the problem with WinXP SP 3.0. After finished a wu, Boinc opened and created the link file. Then I downloaded Avast!freeware and installed. So Boinc is back again and runs very well on my pc. Many thanks for your help, especially BobCat13. Kind regards to all.
