I am not sure if it is the best appropriate way, but you could try to use acronis for cloning the partition.
Since I am not aware if Windows does select different drivers for SSD vs. conventional HD, maybe you should be careful by using an HD image instead of a new installation.
If you are using a Linux based system, there is several guidelines on Internet regarding how to configure Linux properly for operating a SSD.
