accessibility problem with nav bar pulldowns

When the font on the navigation bar is scaled up to my minimum font size setting in Firefox, it wraps around, since its width is fixed. The pulldowns for HOME, ABOUT US, and FORUMS (but not RESEARCH) come up underneath the wrapped-around buttons, making it impossible to reach any of the links on the pulldowns. The RESEARCH pulldown has a positive z-index; specifying this for all the pulldowns would fix the problem:

#mainNav li:hover ul { z-index: 2000 }

(Of course, it would be even nicer if the header and nav bar on the main pages were also extended to use more of the width of large windows, like the ones on this page.)

Re: accessibility problem with nav bar pulldowns

Yup, noticed that Help and Language selector wrap around and one hover on About Us and the menu comes up overlaying the language selector and the mouse is moved down, the menu disappears again before getting the chance chose anything. Pain in the but, so had to size the font down, which then makes it squint reading for me on a 1280x800 display.
