Re: Computing for Clean Water Beta Target 03

One of my machines was able to grab 2 of these Betas. They ran concurrently in high priority and finished in exactly 4 hours without any problem. Both results validated OK.

What platform is that? On Linux they run 60% faster than on Windows i.e. Target02 runs on my Linux quad 2.6 hours but when booted into W7-64 just over 4 hours.

Re: Computing for Clean Water Beta Target 03

linux: around 2-2:30
windows: close to 4hrs

so target03 has the same crunch time compared to target02

This was on my laptop (Core2 Duo P8600 @ 2.4Ghz, 2GB RAM) with Win XP SP3 32 bit.

Re: Computing for Clean Water Beta Target 03

My Windows quad managed to grab 4 of these (with a little help from me I must say), and ran them almost concurrently. All 4 seemed to run okay with no issues biggrin

Re: Computing for Clean Water Beta Target 03

I saw 3 in my cache this morning but they weren't running when I left for work. I'll post results when I get home.

Re: Computing for Clean Water Beta Target 03

nanoprobe, I don't know if you're aware (also, if you're crunching on other projects as well as WCG this won't work), but you can automatically get your BOINC mgr crunching 'rush jobs' (such as Beta/repair WU's) straightaway by setting your "Switch between applications every nn Minutes' to 7200. Therefore it may be something you might like to try. It worked a treat for me last night biggrin

I've seen that posted before but I never got around to doing it. Memory fades with age. biggrin I'll set it when I get home. Thanks for the reminder.
