Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Some of our old stuff apparently got some fresh attention. Neat!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

As the new term starts up, almost everyone from the CEP team who had been out of town over the summer has returned back to Cambridge. Good to have everybody back safe and sound. Full steam ahead into an exciting new semester!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Well, it seems that the summer slowly starts to lose steam and we are about to get more reasonable temperatures. While that is bad for people with solar cells on their roofs, there is for us now hope that many of our crunchers will return to CEP to bring us back to our former return numbers! Fired up, ready to go!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Alan gave his tenure talk yesterday and did a very good job. His presentation was titled “Rethinking spectroscopy: Molecules as quantum processors” and concentrated on one of the other projects in the group. Nontheless, he mentioned the Clean Energy Project as well – it’s one of his signature projects after all.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

The team is spreading the word on CEP some more around the world. Alan flew to Italy to talk about the project at a conference and Suleyman is doing likewise in the Netherlands at the meeting of a foundation.

We are very happy to welcome Martin Blood-Forsythe – a graduate student from the Applied Physics program – as a new member of the Clean Energy Project team. His work will focus on the data mining and modeling aspects of CEP, and we are excited to have him on board. Welcome, Martin!

Being a nibby sort, I googled your new team member's name...it would appear that *congratulations are in order to both sides of this "personnel transaction".

(*Devious, eh? On the surface, noting an outstanding addition to an already outstanding team - but on second thought, rather unsubtly increasing the pressure on the CEP team to use the tremendous talent resource they collectively represent to end the diverse environmental and political problems arising from dependency upon carbonaceous forms of potential energy overnight - if not sooner.

Although I'm abusing the privileges of spectatin'/not actually having to do the work...an act which, of course, is yet another privilege of spectatin'. devilish )
