Last night shortly after I sent some files from BOINC for WCG my HDD on my Dell Studio Laptop crashed.
----------------------------------------There was a good number of WU's that are due on or about the 16th of Nov. that were still left to run. Is there a way for someone to remove those WU's from that computer so that the WU's can be re-sent to someone?? I have just installed a new drive but I wanted to be sure those WU's would not cause a problem when I re-install BOINC and try to connect that laptop back to WCG. How long should I wait? ![]() |

You can go ahead and reinstall BOINC straight away - as it'll create a 'new device' listing against your account name and download some new WU's.
----------------------------------------As to the WU's which were lost - unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do about them (the techs are able to manipulate them - although that is if they've got time). The system though is designed to cope with such incidents, as new WU's will be sent out to replace those lost when their deadline passes. ![]() |
