I have the World Community Grid running on two quad core Windows 7 machines at home. Both use the same WiFi network and both have worked without a problem since the software was installed until yesterday. Now one continues to functions as usual and the other will not download any new tasks. Both say they are connected to the local host. I can find no error message in the Message log.
I tried reinstalling the version I was using with no effect. I then downloaded the latest version, no change. I next uninstalled and reinstalled the software with no effect. If I click on MyGrid my browser launches and I can see my stats. Any thoughts? Walter Hamilton |

Hi Walter, when you're looking in your BOINC manager, check the Download tab - as there may be a stuck download. If there is, abort it and hopefully that'll cure your problem.
----------------------------------------Unfortunately, a little while back, WCG had a major outage which corrupted some files which were still to be downloaded, and this may, just may be the reason... ![]() |

I checked my problem machine the following day and it was back to normal. There was nothing in the messages to give me a clue. The other machine had begun new tasks while the problem one couldn't get them and it wasn't short of spare tasks which might have indicated a problem with the task server.
I hope this doesn't come back. For now I am happy. Walter Hamilton |
