I'm pure Linux until CEP2 works on Windows.
Is the project really 30% complete already? Where can I find the progress? |

Have you checked out the FAQ's - as there's a couple of threads there which show the progress - WCG Supplemental Performance Charts - 1 shows the 'overall progress', whilst WCG Supplemental Performance Charts - 2 shows the 'project specifics'. In the first of those links, you'll find the chart which you're looking for - "WCGPI1 - Active/Intermittent Research Dashboard", and here, you'll see that this project is ESTIMATED at 28.61% through, based on Calendar (which is different to Volume).

I guess I need to go to Linux before the project is over. No kidding. Learning Linux & getting an old computer set up with it has always been on my 'someday' list of things to do. I also really didn't want to move it up the list with all that I've got going on around here at the moment. However, it looks like it needs to take a much higher priority if I want to get more than a bronze or maybe silver badge once this project is finally released to Windows. With all the other badge hunters around here the remaining 70-75% of the project will go by fast (which after all is the overall goal of this whole place & I really should focus on that but.....). Oh well, alternative/clean energy is one of my soapboxes that I regularly climb up upon, I suppose the least I can do is to find an old machine & spend a few hours/ (hopefully not) days figuring things out. Congrats to those of you with Linux machines who've pushed the project so far along so quickly, it really is impressive in spite of all my early Monday morning curmudgeonly fussing . |

Unless something is done by Thanksgiving, it looks like we will be waiting at least until next January. I will put up with that since there are enough active projects to keep my systems busy. I cannot afford to move any to Linux at this time.
