betwen 14:50 and 15:10 BST I got that there was no new work for both Cancer and clean water was there something wrong with the main database? If not what caused the problem

BOINC servers can develop incidental load balancing hickups... for instance a crunching farm owner trying to grab thousands of tasks, being redirected to HCC because C4CW was stopped, as you and many noticed and there only being so many shared memory slots that needed backfilling, so that's what you get...temporary feeder shortages of one or the other science. My clients were bounced for an hour and then retried and I was nowhere near them for they are designed to do that. After, they got the work my profiles were set to get. Cache/Additional Buffer on the client is meant to bridge these interruption and default for WCG is to have about half a day of work so we generally never need to miss a second of spare time crunching.

We have had a periodic issue on the backend that we are trying to nail down. It would result in short term inability of clients to get work.

Same here, I am also getting some server aborted in result status page, from 2 machines?

Let's segregate:
No New Work: Many reasons, cache full, the "send other work if... " not selected when the preferred sciences have [temporarily] none in the feeder such as laid out by knreed above. Server Aborted is: A) when a task/batch is bad, either bad bad, crashing during computation or e.g. when it's known that the task files are incomplete B) when the task is redundant. For instance a client has a late / nor reply task and the repair wingman already returned the result, or the no reply still cam in before the repair man got to the extra task assignment. It helps to provide detail, message/result log sections, for else it's a wild guess... are we talking HCC only here? One thing for sure: The production numbers are still very close to normal, so the troubles posted on the forums is by those that see an issue and right you are in posting and confirming, but it is NOT general, across the board... that's why we have cache features in the client, by design, to bridge these troubles of most all varieties. In my case, it was a machine set to do HCC only. Changed to include other projects and received WUs as normal. It seems a shortage on HCC, but surely just a temporal issue.

I also changed to include other projects, added HCCC and my machines are working away now.
