interesting statistics

Stats for the last three days are as follows
10/16/10 322:358:20:33:41 311,545,506 615,147
10/15/10 532:069:09:46:56 500,354,933 998,194
10/14/10 23:362:23:52:31 21,165,107 36,862
One can see that the 14th had a very small day followed by a very large day with an average day last. One can clearly see that the 3 day average is still below the average for the previous 3 days so the total number of results for those 3 days is 1,650,203 and the total number of results for the previous 3 days is 1,852,363 for a difference of 202,160, It look like there are still close to that many missing results. In my personal results I have over 30 days of cpu time for the 15th. This is impossible since I have only 26 cores and I did not run my computers 24 hours on that day. My previous record was 25 days for one day. As for me I have a total of 261 results for the three days but was averaging around 110 results a day so I am missing around 60 results. I have around 81 results pending now and there is nothing unusual about that. The 14th had only about 6% of normal and the 15th had about 60% more than normal. Not even close to making up for the 14th. In any event something went wrong with the stats and is still wrong. Maybe they can correct this error in the future. There must have been a massive failure on the 14th but one would assume that they could have recovered on the 15th or 16th and changed the results for the 14th but putting a lot more than normal on the 15th is not the way to go either so they can not determine when the results came in on the 15th. Some of those results came in on the 14th and were not posted until the 15th.

Re: interesting statistics

When the BOINC servers were down, they couldn't send any WUs out. A number of people (me included) ran out of work for a couple of hours. I expect things will get back to normal very soon.

Re: interesting statistics

The ratio I count now as 1 : 9

;>)

(Thus it's puzzling how it could have been missed to warrant the increase to 1: 10 :P).

Sorry RickTB, result stats count for the day they are validated, so can't do anything about history. It is the reason why many of the charts use multi-day averages, but will still show extreme wobbles such as the Oct-13-16 / Wednesday-Friday proceedings.
