I have 1 machine that is not downloading new w/u's
Its a quad core and only 2 cores are currently crunching. All other jobs have finished and uploaded. I don't get any error it just dosent download any additional tasks. all of my other machines seem to have caught up, uploaded all the finished tasks in the cache and downloaded new work. Cache is set for 1.5 days. I have rebooted and tried manual update, this is what I get:

Occasionally we see these riddle reports. Could be corrupt net_stats control. Please find the client_state.xml file in the BOINC data_dir and copy / paste these sections, sampled below in your next post:

Also plz force a benchmark in BOINC Manager Advanced menu.

Upgrading to 6.10.58 I think forces a client to always keep all cores busy whatever the control values are in above.

I can't even find the data directory!

The only subdirectorys in the BOINC directory are locale and skins. Locale contains a bunch of mostly 2-letter subdirectoies

forced a benchmark but this time i did get an error msg, see below

(Scratching head), you posted the path in the log:

Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC

In explorer it could be hidden, but you can get there by simply typing the path in the address bar.

As for the new error... hmmm... start by doing the magical boot and see what happens.

Sek, with only 2 cores crunching & no additional wu's in cache, what if I abort these 2 delete the boinc software & reinstall?

Well, before that and the boot, don't know how far these last 2 tasks have advanced... let them finish and do a project reset. If you uninstall and delete BOINC you'll loose the device info and thus will likely cause the creation of a new one, but that's up to you. You may rerun the 6.2.28 installer and choose the 'repair' option if things don't shape up.

Ok, will try that. They have about 3 hrs ea. to go. I was thinking the radical approach because I am going away for the weekend & the might not finish before I leave. I wanted to get the quad up and running before then as it would have stayed on & kept crunching while i was gone. might have to wait for monday this other way.

OK, well if having time constraint do a reset first. If the downnloads dont go, do a repair install.
