Re: Fedora14 spoke to soon

You might need to add a cc_config.xml file into the boinc folder with these lines,

<cc_config>
<options>
<alt_platform>i686-pc-linux-gnu</alt_platform>
</options>
</cc_config>

Try using a different Ethernet cable or move your wireless router.
Is "Skip image file verification" checked (Boinc Manager, Advanced Preferences, Network Usage)?
:)

Re: Fedora14 spoke to soon

Many thanks skgiven forgive my ignorance.

I've just worked out how to find my own threads on here so a lot of this could be my fault still.

Hmm ok well since last post i have zero filled the drive and re installed sop for me when i get the $h with something pc related.

Hows this i'm using the LXDE spin installed on HD lol
with about as much sucess.

This is doing the yum install boinc client & manager drill which no matter which fedora takes you to rpm fusion i think and the world of pain starts from there.

11 messages from server now 1 error App version has unsupported platform i86-pc-linux-gnu then another 11 for No application found for task:i686-pc-linux-gnu 619 ; disgarding

And it just keeps doing that verbatum oh and it starts just like posted before also what i just said above is the full blown events after the fact.

How do i install it just from manual d/l in terminal su'd ?

It's been ages since i used linux and i wasn't that flash back then either ;-)

This stuff just does my head in because it's fresh installs everytime.

Ooo and i just disabled the check verification tick box will reboot and see if it took.

But this things cactus i suspect or just me lol.

Re: Fedora14 spoke to soon

Hi vcobz,

The original reply by skgiven was correct until he edited in those last 2 lines. All you need to fix is the "app version" bit, which is covered in this FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,28642. Nothing is corrupted!
