To add to the SIGPIPE, here's a BFS FAQ on the various Signal error codes: http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?view=165
----------------------------------------edit: and more, a BOINC bug report at Debian: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=551090 generally I let BOINC run without the BOINC Manager... sucks cycles and has a long history of breaking things... the most frequent under Windows but also under Linux when system is busy, the problem of connecting via localhost to the core client service / daemon.

Plz see my previous post with link to the BFS FAQ... signal 11 aka SIGSEGV or SIGNAL SEGMENTATION VIOLATION is a problem with your system, not with the task. If you can't resolve this and it only happens during the heavy runs of CEP2, it might have to be an opt-out again for your host.

There's a basic function in BOINC that it tries to recoup a task. The "INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning" is a benign line, particularly if printed at the start and that you will see at front of many sciences, not only CEP2, because there is nothing to restore from at the beginning. Here's an example from a valid HCMD2 task:
----------------------------------------Result Log Result Name: CMD2_ 0852-1J2J_ B.clustersOccur-1MHN_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 1-- <core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> INFO: Initializing Platform. INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]>

all the config tweaks had no effect on the errors, they still appeared. two days back i disabled project "The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2" and since then no errors.
