Interesting. If you look at the global stats for WCG for the past week, it would appear that it took about a 20 to 25 percent hit in production as a result of the filesystem error. I suspect there were a lot of folks with no work and idle machines. I wonder what I might have posted. My new system wouldn't have bumped me up that much |

Folks, please check your forum signature for invalid items. These show up as the red X in a box in your signature. That means the browser is not finding that image and the link should be removed. Those can mean slight delays for the reader while their browser waits to time out trying to find the non-existent images.

Good Morning! Good Morning MOT Keith: I estimate that I lost about 8 +- hours EDIT: "On each of my computers" during the file system problems. I have increased my queues to 1 day. Yea, 8 hours per system adds up. A one day queue will help. I run with a 3.5 day queue as that is longer than the worst outage WCG has ever had (the long Christmas outage from a few years back). You normally don't want to go longer than that but it has a bit of an added benefit of reducing the size of my PV jail as the wingmen have 3-3.5 days to crunch it before I do. With 0.5 days or less, most of what you crunch (that isn't quorum of 1) goes straight to PV and your points that day are for what comes out. |
