I have noticed that, on numerous occasions, I get the following error message, from the SETI project:
"Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server" What is going on here? |

First of all, that is not a WCG question..it is a SETI question or BOINC question. But it looks to me like the server that despenses Work Units and Collects results cannot be contacted at the moment. There are many different conditions that could cause that. One that your computer is not connected to the net. Another that your ISP is having problems and still another that the server is temporarily down. Generally this is not something that is that serious unless it happens a great deal.
----------------------------------------I would add that the servers here at WCG are generally very reliable and so you can eliminate one of the possible problem sources by just running WCG Work Units. Have a great day and thanks for contributing to the WCG. |

SETI usually has a once a week outage for server maintenance. Such messages are common. You can see their server status at:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html I suggest that you check there first. I see that currently (Sept 25, 2010), most of there servers are down. That is probably responsible for being unable to connect. - D |
