That's precisely why I see only five days; because I have five physical machines. Brilliant!

Thanks Sekerob, the number seems to have evened out with your suggestion + frequent contact with BOINC to upload WUs very soon after they're complete.

To conclude, the only possibility to increase the runtime is to add more threads.
Maybe the next Intel cpu will come with 16 threads.
This means with 12 machines single socket you do Ruby in a day.
And why not expand the HT concept and have more threads per core, say 4. Then we would have an octocore with 32 threads. Then you get Ruby with only 6 machines.
I suppose that as multiple threads become more and more the norm across the board badging too will have to be extended.

Was reading something yesterday about anything much over 48 cores is going to cause internal bottlenecking requiring OS redesign, with least work expected for Linux.
