Hi,
Would like to ask whether can Boinc be installed on Small Business Server 2008? I know this may sound stupid but I have a server running 24/7 without much task. If possible, I would like it to run Boinc as well. I tried to install it but it's not supported. Is there a way to make it work? Regards. |

No reason why not, when configured as a Domain Controller requiring 5.10.45, of course installed as a service.
----------------------------------------Here's a preexisting threads that low/behold also mentions the DC issue: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=5986&sort=6 and a thread specific on SBS 2008 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=58567&sort=5 Recommend to use ThreadMaster GUI to control the ceiling CPU% that the BOINC science apps can use as when you don't want there to be any perception by the users that your server (if small business) gives slow response. If it's just u, skip this and then monitor, but at least you're aware the tool exists. good luck.
