[...] I had that problem too, but it was mainly only over the weekend. Everything works fine for me now (phew!).[...]I have the same problem as [B.S] sTrey. Neither the bit.ly link nor the direct sig.net78.net address works for me. The site DNS resolves, but the site itself just times out. It has been this way since Thursday or Friday last week (don't remember which). So, as reported before, during the weekend before last I was unable to get to SNURK's stat pages. Then, during the week everything was ok again. Then, most interestingly, last weekend I was cut off again. Two incidents are a bit early to call it a pattern, but I think it is worth keeping an eye on the weekends.... (and that not just in this particular context, heehee). Frankly, if those services scale down a bit over the weekend and I cannot got to the stats, I can live with that. There are one or two things that are ever so slighltly more important than looking at colorful numbers , but I think it would still be a good idea to figure out what is going on. |

but I think it would still be a good idea to figure out what is going on. I check my stats every day and have not had an interruption during the past 2 weeks..It is of course important that you determine what is going on with your sig, but it does not seem to be SNURK's responsibility to change anything. AV, Firewall, ISP, Service, bandwidth, routing table; response time, DNS; any one or more of these could be causing the problem on your end. The key piece of knowledge is that the sig is restored to working without SNURK's intervention. That tells you something. |

[...] The key piece of knowledge is that the sig is restored to working without SNURK's intervention. astrolabe,I believe you misunderstood the problem: There is no problem with my sig. It shows just fine (as far as I can observe). The problem is with the "World Community Grid Forum Signature Ranking" page, located at http://bit.ly/iECjqp - this is the page that suddenly becomes inaccessible. It appears to be affecting only some people and those only intermittently, but that is what these forums are all about, after all: Exchange information and see a bigger picture emerging. I have the suspicion that the issue is related to the web servers at bit.ly, resp., net78.net, because it is occurring on weekends (at least for me). That may be a very premature conclusion, as I have openly admitted in my original email already, however, I believe it was fair to bring this up as a possibility. Perhaps others can successfully add to the pattern or clearly refute it. I am open either way. |

Meanwhile I've been fiddling with the sigs. You will find on your sig the average per day for runtime, points and results returned. This is the the average of the past 30 days. Or at least it will be, because at the moment I only have about 10 days of history in the database, but it will grow towards 30 days in time. Then there's the little up and down arrows besides your ranking (global, country and team). This shows if you are going up or down or are stationary. It is determined by comparing your ranking of today by the average ranking of the last 7 days. If lower, then you're going up, else down. Please tell me if you see anything out of the ordinary. ![]() SNURK. SNURK, Thanks for adding the current averages to the signature. This is much better than the Excel sheet I built. Having a 30-day average is very useful to me. The WCG My Statistics page averages info back to our join date. Not sure what good a 5-year average is. Thank you sir! Hi SNURK, I want to add my thanks for the upgrade. When I first saw it I was wondering how far back you went for the averages; thirty days does seem like a good amount of time. I have been working with the WCG averages and it seems to take foreverto get them to move up. I like having the current averages available so I can see how I am doing at this time. I had completely missed the up and down arrows. One other thing... how many projects are you using to determine when to go from green to blue? I have been green for a long time and I was shooting for 34 years to turn blue. With two new projects, I think that means I will have to get 38 years I think. Oops, I just took a second look and there are 21 projects of which you said you don't count Beta testing; so two times 20 would mean I need 40 years to turn blue. Thanks again, Dave [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 10, 2012 3:35:05 PM] |

Based on my average per day I need another 5 calendar days to be safe. ![]() Anyway if I do fall back it won't be for long.. |
