Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Coleslaw, with the amount of rain we've been getting, I don't think there is any danger of freezing. I just changed my projects to DDDT2 only and increased my work buffers by a day; all I get is messages saying there is no work available. I went back to getting work for CEP2.

Nothing yet, we are still working on step 1 from what Seippel listed above. It may be Monday or next week when we reach step 3.

Thank you for your patience,

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

We have cleared out all of the work units on the grid. The researchers have provided us with some new work that should properly run on the grid. We will be doing a few extra steps to make sure we don't have this trouble again.

1. We are going to test a few work units on the back end first.
2. Only send out minimal amount of the work units to members to make sure there isn't a widespread issue.
3. Release the flood gates so that all can get work.

Thanks,
Seippel

Members asked about what would happen about the Pending Validation of which there will have been many, waiting on a wingman/repairman to never show. In anticipation I prepped to see the path you'd handle this, to have answer for the next event and question. The answer came silently via last nights My Grid page update looking hard for 28.35 hours worth of 'good' PV jobs added to the tally:

My Grid on morning of the 7th:

Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 415,201 807 0:163:07:35:19

My Grid on morning of the 10th:

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I didn't think to look at the Global Stats but my personal one show that the PV DDDT2 WU's were wiped out without time or points awarded. I has 23+ hours in PV, waiting for copy to be sent, that are no longer in Results Status with no change to My Grid DDDT2 Project Stats.

Not a very cruncher friendly way to handle the problems caused by elements outside the crunchers control.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I had one work unit which was Inconclusive for both wingmen. Not that I care much about 6 hours of lost cpu time, but as wplachy said, other people might have lost more time. Please make sure next time that you give credit for all work units returned + wait until the 10 days deadline is due before killing the jobs. Thanks.

20 cm of snow out there, but most likely no dengue snow.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

The loss of points due to Pending Validation was my fault. I missed a step when canceling out the work units. Unfortunately there is no way to recover the points lost.

Again, I am sorry and hope you accept my apology.
